About Workin’ Moms
Working Moms is a Canadian television sitcom created by Catherine Reitman, which premiered on CBC Television on January 10, 2017. The show stars Reitman as Kate Foster, a mother of two who works in public relations and struggles to balance her demanding career with raising her kids. She’s joined by three other working moms: Anne Carlson (Dani Kind), Frankie Coyne (Juno Rinaldi) and Jenny Matthews (Sara Canning).
The series follows the four women navigating their lives as working mothers. Through their workdays, parenting challenges, relationships and friendships, the women support each other through every step of their journey.
In addition to exploring issues working mothers face, such as guilt for being unable to be with their children, balancing career and family, and the difficulties of finding child care, Working Moms also delves into topics such as mental health and addiction.
Working Moms has received positive reviews from critics for its honest and unique portrayal of working moms. The series was nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards in 2018, winning one for Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Program or Series. In addition, Reitman won a Gracie Award for Individual Achievement in Comedy in 2019.
The show is in its seventh and final season, which premiered on January 1, 2023. Despite the difficulty due to Covid-19, Working Moms aired new episodes every Tuesday night on CBC Television.
