About Partner Track

Partner Track was a legal drama streaming television series created by Georgia Lee based on Helen Wan’s 2013 novel, The Partner Track. It debuted on Netflix on August 26, 2022, but unfortunately was canceled after its first season in November of the same year.

On September 14, 2021, Netflix announced that they had ordered a ten-episode series called Partner Track. The show is based on Helen Wan’s 2013 novel The Partner Track and will be produced by Georgia Lee, Sarah Goldfinger, Tony Hernandez, and Kristen Campo. Helen Wan will serve as a consultant for the series.

The series had five directors: Julie Anne Robinson, Tanya Wexler, Kevin Berlandi, Lily Mariye, and Charles Randolph-Wright. It was produced by Jax Media and filmed in New York. Julie Anne Robinson directed the first two episodes. The series premiered on August 26, 2022, but unfortunately, Netflix canceled it after one season on November 8, 2022.

Arden Cho, Bradley Gibson, Alexandra Turshen, Nolan Gerard Funk, Dominic Sherwood, Rob Heaps, and Matthew Rauch were cast as lead actors when the series was announced. Later, on October 29, 2021, Desmond Chiam and Tehmina Sunny joined the show in recurring roles. Recently, on December 20, 2021, Lena Ahn was cast in a recurring capacity.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, 62% of the 13 critic reviews were positive, with an average rating of 5.7/10. Metacritic rated the show with an average of 45 out of 100 based on four critics, indicating “mixed or average reviews.” The show was watched for 66.01 million hours worldwide between August 21 and September 11.

To everyone’s shock, the series ended just after season 1. This usually doesn’t happen with shows, and that’s what fans must be wondering. The streaming provider has announced that there will be Partner Track season 2. This is surprising given Netflix CEO Jinny Howe’s support for the show. However, the Head of Drama Development expressed happiness and started discussing a potential season two when the first season was launched.

The audience’s performance did not meet expectations, even though the play attracted many people considering its low cost. A few factors could affect the decision to renew the show. The decision to renew or cancel the show is based on two main metrics: the adjusted view share and impact value.
