About the Miniseries
“Irreverent” is an Australian drama series about a priest named Boyd, who is actually a criminal named Paulo. He is on the run from angry people after a heist gone wrong that resulted in the death of a gang member. Paulo tries to adjust to small-town life in a remote Australian town in Far North Queensland and find common ground with quirky residents. However, his past may catch up with him, leading to dangerous consequences.
Colin Donnell, known for his role in Chicago Med, played the lead role of Paulo/Reverend Boyd. The cast also includes P. J. Byrne, who starred in The Wolf of Wall Street, as the actual Reverend Mackenzie Boyd, Wayne Blair, the director of The Sapphires, as Peter, Russell Dykstra from Rake as Lester, and Robert Rabiah from Face to Face as Farah. Another alumna from Wentworth, Susie Porter, portrays Agnes, making this her second collaboration with writer Andrew Anastasios from Wentworth and Irreverent.
