About Chicago PD TV ShowΒ  Β Β Β

Chicago P.D. is an American police procedural drama television series created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead and is the second installment of Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise. The show follows the detectives of the Intelligence Unit of the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department as they investigate crimes to protect their city from criminals and all other forms of evil.

The main characters are Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who leads the team; Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a former Navy SEAL; Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati); Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger); Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda); Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), Detective Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas); and Officer Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos).

The show has guest stars, including Sophia Bush as Erin Lindsay; Amy Morton as Desk Sergeant Trudy Platt; Brian Geraghty as Sean Roman; Jon Seda, the only actor to appear in all four Chicago franchise shows; Marina Squerciati as Kim Burgess; and LaRoyce Hawkins as Kevin Atwater. Several members of the cast have left after various story arcs.

Chicago P.D. premiered on NBC on January 8, 2014. It follows the same format as its predecessor, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but with a focus on police officers attempting to solve crimes rather than prosecutors taking cases to court. It has since become one of the longest-running shows on NBC, with its seventh season currently airing.

The show focuses on crime prevention and law enforcement tactics, as well as tackling social issues in Chicago β€” such as corruption, organized crime, racism, and gang violence. The show also looks at personal relationships between characters in the Intelligence Unit and how they cope with their work-related stress.

Chicago P.D. is a gripping drama that has won numerous awards for its captivating storytelling and performances from its talented cast members. With 208 episodes aired, it continues to be one of television’s most popular police dramas today β€” delivering edge-of-your-seat storylines and riveting crime investigations. Fans won’t want to miss what’s next in the thrilling world of Chicago P.D.

According to the reviews from mainstream critics, Chicago P.D. has received mixed ratings. Metacritic has given the show a rating of 50 out of 100 based on 22 reviews, which means the reviews have been “mixed or average.” Season 1 of the show on Rotten Tomatoes has a rating of 61% based on reviews from 31 critics. The average rating given by the critics is 5.29/10. The consensus of the show states that although it shows potential for greater success, it is ultimately an old-school cop show trying to mimic classic procedurals like Hill Street Blues.

Whether the season 10 finale will conclude Richard Beck’s storyline or expand it further is unclear.
