About Chicago Med TV Series
The Television series Chicago Med is a spin-off of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. It was created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead and premiered on NBC in November 2015. The series follows the day-to-day life of the doctors, nurses, and staff at an extremely busy hospital in the fictional city of Chicago.
Its focus is on the professional and personal lives of those who work at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center, a Level I trauma center where medical director Dr Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) serves as its head physician. The show has featured several characters from other Dick Wolf productions, such as Jesse Spano from Saved by the Bell, Dr. Daniel Charles from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Dr. Ethan Choi from Chicago Fire.
On February 27, 2020, NBC renewed the series for a sixth, seventh, and eighth season. Season six premiered on November 11, 2020. Season seven premiered on September 22, 2021. Season eight premiered on September 21, 2022. A ninth season was renewed for the series in April 2023.

Chicago Med Season 9 Release Date on NBC
As confirmed, NBC has renewed Chicago Med for season 9, and it will remain on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT to kick off the night. The bad news is it won’t air for some time. The show is also part of the fall lineup so it will premiere in September. This is unlikely to happen this year, though. In the meantime, there are no series episodes to be filmed.
