The Exorcist: Believer Release Date
The Exorcist: Believer Release Date has been revealed. The latest installment of The Exorcist series will be presented as a trilogy, with the first film slated to hit theaters on October 13, 2023. It will be released alongside Lionsgate’s faith-based drama, Ordinary Angels, providing audiences with diverse cinematic choices. Notably, The Exorcist: Believer is not the only horror movie to anticipate this October, as the highly awaited film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s, also from Universal and Blumhouse, is scheduled for release two weeks after the legacy sequel. Additionally, fans can look forward to the Stephen King prequel, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, premiering on Paramount+ just a week prior.
Building on the excitement, Universal and Blumhouse have already announced the release date for the second film in the trilogy, titled The Exorcist: Deceiver, which is set for April 18, 2025, coinciding with the Easter weekend.
The Exorcist: Believer Plot
The Exorcist: Believer Plot is something to watch out for. During a chat with the director, Green shared with Weintraub at Collider that his vision for the new trilogy is to continue the original story rather than opting for a remake. This time, Leslie Odom Jr. will portray the parent of a possessed child.
With Ellen Burstyn reprising her role, the addition of Leslie Odom Jr. to the cast, and the dedicated team of Green, Blum, and others behind the project, audiences can expect a fresh and revitalizing approach to the story while preserving the essence that made the original film a classic.
Have a look at the original synopsis of The Exorcist: Believer-
“Exactly 50 years ago this fall, the most terrifying horror film in history landed on screens, shocking audiences around the world. Now, on Friday, October 13, a new chapter begins. From Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green, who shattered the status quo with their resurrection of the Halloween franchise, comes The Exorcist: Believer.
Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® nominee Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has raised their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls) on his own.
But when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.”
