The Boys Overview

The Boys is nothing less than an explosive thrill ride. This riveting show is based on Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s acclaimed comic book by the same name. Join a band of vigilantes known as “the boys” and witness their courageous journey to take on corrupt superheroes using nothing but raw determination, savvy techniques, and sheer grit.

On July 26, 2019, eight chapters of a thrilling series debuted with an amazing cast, including Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty and more. Season one received high praise from fans for its captivating storyline and dynamic performances by Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara & Elisabeth Shue.

The first season follows the titular team, led by Billy Butcher (Urban), as they track down a group of superheroes known as The Seven. The latter is owned and sponsored by Vought International, a powerful corporation monetizing superhero activities. As they learn more about the corruption within the organization, they discover that it is willing to go to extreme lengths to hide its secrets from public knowledge. With the help of an unlikely ally, the Boys take on The Seven to reveal they’re true intentions and save humanity from certain destruction.

The second season was released on September 4, 2020; it consists of eight episodes and follows the boys taking on new enemies, such as Stormfront (Aya Cash) and the Church of the Collective. Meanwhile, Homelander (Starr) is trying to gain more control over The Seven, and Butcher is struggling with his own inner demons as he attempts to keep the group together.

The third season and the series finale was released in June 2022. It follows the Boys as they face off against their greatest challenge yet: The Homelander and his newly-formed team of supervillains. With Butcher and his crew outmatched, it’s up to them to find a way to take down one of the most powerful heroes ever created before it’s too late.

The Boys earned critical acclaim for its irreverent, darkly comedic tone, with critics praising its action sequences, performances and provocative themes. In 2020, the series was nominated for four Prime Video awards and won three. Its success has spawned two spin-off series in development; one based on The Seven members and another focused on female superheroes known as “Supes”.

Though an official release date for the 4^th season isn’t confirmed yet, the show was renewed in June 2022 after its season 3 finale aired on July 8. Unfortunately, we may have to wait a bit longer before new episodes are released.

What’s Gonna be the Cast for The Boys Season 4?

As the cast of The Boys has expanded over the past couple of seasons, we anticipate that almost everyone will be returning for The Boys Season 4, with announcements on casting set to arrive in the upcoming months. What about the plot for The Boys Season 4?

While the plot of The Boys season 4 remains unknown, we can speculate on what’s to come from clues in the Season 3 finale. After a deal with Homelander, Victoria Neuman is now nominated for Vice President and has become their most prominent foe. With her newfound power, she could be deemed one of the strongest Supes ever, at least politically speaking. This all culminates with The Boys unifying again to oppose this superior being and end her reign once and for all.

Fortunately, Starlight has now joined Butcher’s team as a committed ally. This may be particularly beneficial for Billy as he faces the repercussions of Temp V, and his body begins to deteriorate from its impact. As such, he is in grave danger with the arrival of the new season, a crisis that could prove dire without Starlight’s help at his side.

Though Soldier Boy is temporarily taken out of the equation, it’s yet to be determined whether he will rise again in The Boys season 4. Kripke might have a surprise up his sleeve with an entirely new villain who has the potential to finally bring down Homelander for good.

How many Episodes will there be in The Boys Season 4?
