As for the female protagonist, Kang Joo-eun is a 33-year-old lawyer and was once known as the “Venus of Daegu” in her hometown. Although Joo-eun successfully achieves her aspiration of becoming a lawyer, she experiences weight gain and a perceived decline in her physical attractiveness. After being dumped by her long-term boyfriend on their 15th anniversary, she travels to America for work. On her flight back to Korea, she faints due to a combination of alcohol, medication, and a restrictive garment that causes respiratory distress. Young-ho comes to her rescue, and they continue to encounter each other, often in embarrassing situations. Once Joo-eun discovers Young-ho’s true identity as John Kim, she proposes a deal where he helps her lose weight in exchange for her silence about his dual persona.
In addition to the main characters, the drama features a diverse supporting cast, including Im Woo-shik portrayed by Jung Gyu-woon, Oh Soo-jin played by Yoo In-young, Jang Joon-sung portrayed by Sung Hoon, Kim Ji-woong played by Henry Lau, and many others.
