James Marsden’s father, James Luther Marsden, was a LexiGene Industries food safety adviser, and his mother, Kathleen, was a nutritionist. Born in Oklahoma, James Marsden moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career after studying journalism for nearly a year and a half.

He has three children- Mary James Marsden(17), Jack Marsden (22), and William Luca Costa Marden (10). He ended his 17-year marriage to his wife Lisa Linde in 2011 due to “irreconcilable differences,” according to Lisa Linde.
