The Ministry of Science and Technology in India includes the Department of Science and Technology (DST). DST recruitment 2022 has invited application for filling the vacancy of 4 posts of Scientists.
The DST recruitment 2022 focuses on various DST Scientific Programme such as Scientific & Engineering research, Technology Development, International Science & Technology Cooperation, Science &Technology for Socio Economic Programme, Technology Missions Division, Women Scientists Programs.
DST Recruitment openings 2022
The DST recruitment 2022 has issued an invitation for applications for “04” (four) vacancies of DST Scientist recruitment under the INSPIRE programme at the Department of Science & Technology on deputation (including a short term contract). The vacancy is for two posts for DST scientist recruitment. The maximum age for deputation appointments is 56 years old as of the closing date of the receipt.
- Vacancy for post: Scientist ‘B’ and Scientist ‘C’
- No. of Vacancies: – (03) Three for post of Scientist ‘B’ – (01) One for post of Scientist ‘C’

Post of Scientist ‘B’
There are three (03) vacancies for this post. The nature of the post is temporary. The requisites relating to this post are given below:
Pay Scale
The post is a Level 10 with a pay variating from Rs. 56,100- Rs. 1,77,500 per month.
Method and Period of recruitment
It is a deputation recruitment that includes a short term contract. The period of the post is three years or till the completion of the program, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility:
The criteria to apply for this post is:
- Any scientist or technologist employed by the central government, a state government, a university, an accredited research facility, a semi-government agency, a statutory organization, or an autonomous organization in India or overseas.
Holding analogous post on regular basis:
- Scientists/Technologists/Junior Analysts with two years’ service in grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in pay band -2, Rs. 9300- Rs. 34,800 with grade pay of Rs. 4800 (Level 8 as per VIIth CPC) or equivalent or
- Scientists/Technologists/Junior Analysts with three years’ service in grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in pay band -2, Rs. 9300- Rs. 34,800 with grade pay of Rs. 4600 (Level 7 as per VIIth CPC) or equivalent
Possessing the Qualification
- a comparable degree, such as a master’s degree in natural or agricultural sciences, or a bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or medicine from an accredited university.
- Master’s degree in engineering, technology, or medicine from an accredited university, or a doctorate in natural or agricultural sciences, is required.
- specialized knowledge of a science and technology organization, an industrial or academic institution, or a research and development organization

Post of Scientist ‘C’
For this position, there is one open positions (01). The position is temporary in nature. Below are the requirements for this position:
Level of Pay Matrix:
- The post is a Level 11 with a pay variating from Rs. 67,700- Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
Method and Period of recruitment
It is a deputation recruitment that includes a short term contract. The period of the post is three years or till the completion of the program, whichever is earlier.
Eligibility
The criteria to apply for this post is
Any scientist or technologist employed by the central government, a state government, a university, an accredited research facility, a semi-government agency, a statutory organization, or an autonomous organization in India or overseas.
Holding analogous post on regular basis
- With five years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the pay band -3, Rs. 15,600- 39,100 with grade pay of Rs. 5,400 (Level 10 as per VIIth CPC) or equivalent
Possessing the Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
- Four years of experience in research and development in academic and industrial institutions, or in the management of scientific endeavors and services.
- Doctorate Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
How to apply for DST Jobs?
The application process for DST Scientist Recruitment in DST recruitment 2022 involves two stages:
- Candidates are required to apply online (commencement on 17-07-2022 and closure on 15-08-2022 23:59pm)) using a valid email ID within 30 days from the date of advertisement on https://recruitment.dst.gov.in/ and fill up the form and upload the necessary certificates and documents.
- Submission of the hard copy of application form for DST recruitment 2022 shall be done by registered or speed post duly signed by the candidate. No documents/certificates hard copy is to be posted.
- Candidates employed by public sector organizations or government agencies Autonomous organizations, universities, and recognized research institutions should apply through the proper channels. Such applications are considered only if received through the proper channels with a “certificate” properly filled out, duly signed by the applicant authority, and submitted within the prescribed time frame.
- The application form must be duly signed and attested by ACR’s / APAR’s for last five years must be forwarded through proper channel to Under Secretary (Establishment-III), DST, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi- 110016 by registered or speed post within 15 days from the closure.

Important Note
- In case there is a discrepancy between Hindi and English version of advertisement the English version will prevail.
- Application received after last date shall not prevail and no relaxation shall be given in this regard.
- A list of candidate’s name shall be displayed on the department’s website after the last date of receipt (30-08-2022 5:00pm).
- Those candidates shall not apply who have already applied via the last advertisement dated 5th March, 2022.
- Those candidates who believe their prior application was incomplete may re-apply within the allotted time limit, and in such circumstances, their most recent application will be taken into consideration.
- Candidates who successfully applied online for DST Scientist recruitment but whose applications were not received within the allotted time limit need not re-apply; they can simply send the duly signed hard copies of their applications, along with attested copies of their ACRs/APARs for the previous five years, within the final date (14-09-2022 5:00pm) set forth for this re-advertisement.
