Demon Slayer Season 3 is absolutely on the way, so fans who were scared that we’d seen the last of Tanjiro and Nezuko (and everyone else) may relax. After an epic ending that included some of Demon Slayer’s most stunning combat sequences to date, the enormously successful anime programme closed up its second season in May of 2022.

Demon Slayer also had a successful year because to the massive success of the spinoff/sequel film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. When Mugen Train was released in 2020, it became the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time at the worldwide box office. The show is on the way, and we already know a little something about the next season, which has been dubbed the Swordsmith Village Arc.

There’s the first Demon Slayer Season 3 trailer, which teases some of the frightening enemies that will face off against Tanjiro. We also delve a bit further and speculate on the Demon Slayer Season 3 release date as well as which manga chapters it may adapt. There’s also a look at the actors and how the Entertainment District sets up the next arc of the programme. It’s all in our Demon Slayer season 3 guide.

So, now that the dust has cleared in the entertainment district, what lies ahead for Tanjiro and the Hashira Corps in their continuous battle against Muzan Kibutsuji? Here’s all we know about the Demon Slayer Season 3.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Release date

Nothing official has been announced, but we may expect Demon Slayer season 3 release date is to be within the next 12 months, possibly in mid-to-late 2023. We had anticipated that Fall 2022 would be a clear possibility, but in the COVID age, that seems unlikely, and no subsequent pronouncements have suggested otherwise. If that’s the case, a Winter or Spring 2023 release (January-April 2023) or Fall 2023 release (September-October 2023) might all be considered, especially because a Fall announcement should have occurred by now.

The bad news first. There was a two-and-a-half-year delay between Demon Slayer’s first and second seasons, and we’d expect the same for Demon Slayer Season 3. While there is no official Demon Slayer Season 3 release date: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village arc, we expect the third season to arrive in the fall of 2023.

In February 2022, however, the official Demon Slayer account posted the first Demon Slayer season 3 Trailer picture, confirming it was fully in development.

Having saying that, Ufotable’s work output is typically highly constant. Demon Slayer will be released in Japan in the fall of 2019, followed by Mugen Train in the fall of 2020. The Mugen Train recap arc for Demon Slayer began airing on television in Fall 2021. Demon Slayer’s series of consecutive Fall premieres should come to an end, but if anybody can do the impossible, it’s Ufotable.

The latest teaser has some footage, indicating that development is doing well, but there is no release date in sight. At this point, we can hope for Fall 2022, but 2023 is significantly more plausible.

Demon Slayer Season 3 storyline

The Swordsmith Village Arc is officially the third season of Demon Slayer. Don’t worry, we won’t go into too much detail about the source material, but we believe it will cover chapters 100-127 of the manga. Entertainment District Arc spanned a same range from 70 to 99, therefore this season is likely to comprise 12 episodes, give or take a few.

Unless there are severe deviations, Tanjiro should go to Swordsmith Village to receive a new weapon. As it happens, the community is home to an old weapon. But it’s not quite that simple, with the plot including the Love and Mist Hashiras, as well as an Upper Rank demon or two.

On a larger note, the finale of Entertainment District hinted at the direction the programme would most likely follow after Demon Slayer season 3. Tengen is no longer on the board, yet he is still alive and well. Tanjiro, he said Iguro, was his likely Hashira replacement. The Demon Slayers will be able to finally strike back at their ultimate target, Muzan Kibutsuji, from there.
