DU UG Admission Process 2023
Delhi University (DU) offers a diverse range of undergraduate (UG) programs, encompassing streams like Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Fine Arts, and Education. At the UG level, students can pursue various Honours (Hons.) and Programme (Prog.) courses. The minimum eligibility requirement for admission to these UG courses is to have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks.
For DU admission 2023, all UG courses will be filled through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), followed by an e-counselling process. This entrance test will serve as the primary basis for selecting candidates for admission to the university.
Notably, Delhi University has recently introduced the BTech program, which will be conducted by the Faculty of Technology (FoT) and offers specializations in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Admissions to the BTech program will be based on the scores obtained in JEE Main (Paper-1) followed by the seat allocation process overseen by the university.
In summary, DU provides an array of UG courses and has revamped its admission process by introducing CUET UG as the selection criterion for all UG programs, ensuring a more comprehensive and efficient approach to UG admissions for the academic year 2023. Additionally, the BTech program offers exciting opportunities for aspiring engineers, with admissions being conducted through JEE Main scores and DU’s seat allocation procedure.
DU UG Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for admission to UG courses at Delhi University in 2023, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- For all UG courses, a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in 10+2 from a recognized board is required.
- For B.Tech, candidates should have completed 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and mathematics as compulsory subjects, with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

Seat allocation will consider CUET UG scores, candidate’s position on the merit list, category, and seat availability.
For candidates seeking admission through Sports and Extracurricular Activities (ECA), a performance test alongside CUET is required, with the combined score used for selection (CUET: 25% + Performance Test: 75%). Certificates will also be considered along with CUET scores.
For international students, the ‘Foreign Students Advisor’ handles admission queries. Interested candidates can contact the advisor’s office during working hours.
