What is Agneepath Scheme?

Agneepath is the Indian armed forces’ new human resources management program, in which recruits will be chosen for four years of service and become Agniveers. Only 25% of the Agniveers will be promoted to the permanent commission for 15 years after completing four years of service under Agneepath. The army act 1950 will govern the enlistment of persons applying under the Agneepath Recruitment Scheme.

Some protests are taking place in various parts of India as the Agneepath plan is implemented, and some youths are engaging in violent demonstrations. Lieutenant General Anil Puri, the Indian Army’s second-in-command, has stated that there will be no tolerance for indiscipline within its ranks.

Every applicant for Agnipath must be given an undertaking and a pledge that they have not engaged in any demonstration. Police checks will be done on those who took part in these demonstrations. As a result, hopefuls must avoid participating in events like this; otherwise, they will be excluded from military service and their ambition to wear a uniform will remain just a dream.
