There is a login window there asking for some basic details and the Aadhar number present on the card. After providing the necessary details, one needs to click on ‘ Login.’ There will be an option to enter the registered mobile number where one is supposed to receive an OTP to allow the changes in the card. 

Now, under the service section of the portal, click on ‘update Aadhar card online,’ where one is allowed to update basic details like name, date of birth, address, language, gender, etc. After clicking on ‘ Update Aadhar card Online,’ one will be guided to another page with the option ‘Proceed to Update Aadhar’. After clicking there, one will be asked to fill in the details that one needs to change with an option to upload scanned copies of supportive documents.

The process takes about 90 days to complete, after which the new rectified Aadhar card can be downloaded easily. The entire process can also be done offline. In this case, the holder of the Aadhar card needs to visit Aadhar Enrolment Center with the above-mentioned documents and do the necessary formalities as instructed by the officials present there. In this case, too, the rectified Aadhar card can be downloaded within 90 days.

How do update address in Aadhar card?

To change or update address in Aadhar card, one needs to visit Aadhar Self Service Update Portal. There is a login window; one needs to click on ‘ Login.’ There will be an option to enter the registered mobile number linked with Aadhar, where one is supposed to receive an OTP in the given mobile number to allow the changes in the card. After following the above-mentioned process, one needs to pay a sum of 50 rupees as a fee for the process. After payment is made, a URN (Update Request Number) will be generated that will allow checking the Aadhar card update status online. The new address will be added to the Aadhar card within 90 days.
